Spice cleaning - Products free of foreign bodies In our production facilities, the spices are carefully cleaned. Innovative sifting systems meticulously remove foreign bodies as well as small and large particles. A modern system with sequential magnets take care of all the stages of production.
Sterilisation - Additional microbiological safety At AKO, some grain products are heat-treated as standard with dry heat or steam to sterilise them, such as paprika, coriander and black pepper. Seeds can also be sterilised with this method. If wished, we can also use the steam/heat sterilisation method for other products. The minimum order quantity is 2.5 to 3 mt/product. Grinding - Gentle and preserving value High-performance, ultra-modern mills in all shapes and sizes grind our spices using cold-grinding methods. This method ensures gentle milling of the product and - once the surface has been broken - retention of the value-determining components, such as oils. Compared to products that are ground immediately after harvest in the country of origin and then transported across several climate zones, our fresh grinding method yields up to 30% higher levels of essential oils.
Sieving - Defined grading Different sieving systems are able to sieve our ground products into various grain sizes. Depending on our customers' needs, we can distinguish between coarse, steak-pepper and fine grades. From order sizes of 2 mt, we are able to provide sieving services in line with customers' requests.
